
Christina is the director and founder of AEIOU Designstudio. She studied at Carnegie Mellon University and completed a Master’s degree in Industrial Design in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI).
Christina founded AEIOU Designstudio in 1997 after a decade of experience as a design consultant to both private and public sector clients in diverse industries, including architecture (JEAN NOUVEL design, AREP); transportation (APG, of the French railways group, SNCF); private collection and gallery (French fashion designer, AGNÈS B); publishing and media (HACHETTE FILIPACCHI Media, Assouline); contemporary art sponsorship and patronage (CAISSE DES DÉPÔTS et consignations, Mission mécénat, L’Association française d’action artistique (AFAA), and the Fonds régional d’art contemporain (FRACs)).
More recently, Christina has coordinated brand management projects for the Nomen Group in several countries, most notably for: BIOMINIS (merger of Marcel Mérieux and LCL Claude Lévy medical laboratories); CAREO, (joint venture between Cascades Europe and Reno de Medici, cardboard manufacturers); for JVC-VICTOR, consumer electronics manufacturer and for the 2006 Philips spin-out, POLYMER VISION Ltd.
Christina has also directed wayfinding design, conception and installation of signage for the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris (2007-9); exhibition design for France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ 2008 Exhibit “Archeology and Climate Change” at the European Parliament in Strasbourg; and external signage design for Hôtel Miramion and the Musée de l’Assistance Publique (Paris, 2005-9).
Christina Ottaviano-Boury was a part-time lecturer at the Ecole Nationale supérieure d’architecture de Saint-Etienne (ENSASE), and she was the author of research funded by the Centre national des arts plastiques, Fonds d’incitation à la création (FIACRE): “Domaines de production des images de synthèse et leur influence sur les objets quotidiens.” Christina is fluent in English and French.
